The United States.-A huge sinkhole that opened in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday morning ended up swallowing half a bus waiting at a traffic light. Gradually, a car was also close to falling into the hole when the ground suddenly gave way in the middle of rush hour, KDKA reports.
When the incident occurred, only the driver and one passenger were on board the bus and both were able to evacuate the vehicle immediately. The driver was not injured, however, the passenger was taken to a hospital with neck pains.
Images of the scene began to circulate on social networks and some users even took the event with humor. "Pittsburgh knows how to celebrate Halloween," an internet user wrote, suggesting that the bus was part of the city's decoration for this celebration.
Emergency crews came to the site to remove the vehicle. Meanwhile, traffic in the area has been restricted and local authorities mentioned that work to repair the street could take at least a week or two.
