Pink Hill's Ronnie Foster recounted that he had first bought a $1 dollar ticket from a lottery in North Carolina and won $5. The money from that prize was invested in the acquisition of two other tickets. With the first he won nothing, but the second ticket had a prize of $200,000.
I saw all those zeros and I froze," said Foster, who is battling colon cancer. "I didn't believe it until I handed it over to the local employee to scan it," he added. That person confirmed to him that he was a grand prize holder and instructed him to come to the headquarters of the entity responsible for the sweepstakes.
"I was happy because it was my last round of chemotherapy," and "winning this made it my lucky day," the lucky man said.
Foster claimed his award on October 25, and after paying the taxes he took a total of $141,501. Ronnie commented that some of that money will be spent to pay for expenses that don't cover his health insurance, while the rest will save him.
