China.- The Ministry of Commerce of China reported on October 25 of an important telephone conversation held by the country's deputy prime minister, Liu He, with the US Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, and the representative of Commerce of USA, Robert Lighthizer.
In the framework of the call, in which the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Zhong Shan, also agreed to resolve the main differences on both sides with respect to a trade agreement between Beijing and Washington.
Both parties agreed to adequately resolve their key concerns and confirmed that the technical negotiations on a series of texts are basically concluded, "says a statement from the said ministry, published this Saturday.
On October 11, US President Donald Trump announced that both parties had reached the first phase of a trade agreement whose second phase would start "almost immediately" once the first documents are signed. The first stage of these negotiations covers areas such as intellectual property, financial services and agricultural products, among others.
