Haiti.- The political crisis that has been in Haiti for months is on the rise. On Sunday, on the first day of a new week of protests against President Jovenel Moise, at least two deaths and incendiary attacks on the French and Canadian embassies were recorded, local newspaper Le Nouvelliste reported.
These and other violent events such as the sawing of commercial premises and bank headquarters that occurred in the capital, Port-au-Prince took place at the same time that the police peacefully demanded better working conditions, under threat of leaving Weapons.
As reported by the EFE agency, one of the deceased is a man who was accused of killing a protester, and who was stoned to death by a group of people in the Cité Soleil neighborhood.
Amid this chaos, President Jovenel Moise gave an interview on Metropole radio on Monday, in which he confirmed that he will not resign from office, while the shortages of fuel and necessities elevate popular discontent.
According to the head of state, his resignation could lead to an aggravation of the situation on the streets at the hands of "gangs".
After seeing the current serious crisis as an "opportunity" to implement reforms for the most vulnerable sectors of the population, he called for opposition to dialogue, in order to reach a political agreement with a view to shaping a government of unity National.
