Santo Domingo RD.- The Volunteering of the Reserve Bank held for the second consecutive occasion the 5k charity race in favor of the Yo Also I Can Foundation, under the motto "With your steps we build a more inclusive society".
More than three thousand collaborators and special guests of the Reservas Family, participated with great enthusiasm in this solidarity initiative framed within the activities commemorating the 78th anniversary of the bank.
The President of the Volunteering, Jacqueline Ortiz de Lizardo, expressed that Banreservas sees this action as a valuable opportunity to give to society the contribution, support and loyalty that people with disabilities have given to the institution, contributing to its growth and sustainability.
"Let's start this journey together with energy and courage, fostering a culture of equality and inclusion," Ortiz encouraged the cornet touch that started the race.
Ortiz de Lizardo and Simón Lizardo Mézquita, general manager of the Reserve Bank, delivered a check worth one million pesos to the directors of the "I Also Can Foundation", MarÃa Esperanza Haché and Marcelle Berrido.
The funds raised will be earmarked for the construction of the physical space of the non-profit entity dedicated to the stimulation, through the arts, of children, young people and adults with disabilities.
The collaborators celebrated with joy their achievements at the end of the five kilometers and receive medals for their participation.
First place was reached by Frank Wilson Bobadilla, taking the tour in 19 minutes and 45 seconds; the second, Nelkin Orlando Sanchez, in 22 minutes and 18 seconds; and third Daniel Cedano Jimenez, in 22 minutes and 33 seconds.
Among the female competitors were Maria Lapaix, who reached the finish line in 24 minutes and a second; Janett Antonia Morel, 25 minutes and 26 seconds, and Ivonne Cruz, in 27 minutes and six seconds.
With this activity the Reservas Family demonstrated the commitment made by the financial institution in fostering a culture of inclusion and equal opportunities for all Dominicans.
